420 Stainless Steel Plate - AMS 5506
Type 420 is high carbon, martensitic stainless steel. This material provides full corrosion resistance only in a hardened condition. Grade 420 has the highest hardness among all the stainless steel grades with 12% chromium. 420 is magnetic in both the annealed and hardened conditions. It is ideal for a more polished finish and is often used in dental and surgical instruments. Many of these insruments can last from 15-30 years.
